Job Description Role: Technical and Planning focal point for the Beaumont Chemical Plant Utilities Systems
Key Responsibilities:
Planning
Leads development of site Utilities and Energy system improvement plans Initiates and participates in screening studies and optimizations for utility systems
Develops project basis and preliminary designs for energy and utility systems and provides contractor follow-up during detail design
Monitors contractor's utility work to ensure alignment with project specifications and guidelines during construction
Owns responsibility for steam, water and fuel balances and understanding the impact of future projects on those balances
Plant Support
Routinely reviews day-to-day and longer-term monitoring of utility operations
Enhances utility system technical support with high-level troubleshooting skills
Participates in oversight of third-party contract service companies
Mentoring & Networking
Mentors junior site engineering staff, guiding development of appropriate expertise in the Utilities discipline.
Participates in Networking activities as senior site representative
Participates in Beaumont Complex (refining and chemical plant) Utilities & Energy Optimization efforts; coordinates all Chemical Plant projects with refining organization
Sponsors technical excellence in all utilities activities up the line to management
Skills/Background:

Planning and design of utility and/or offsite systems for refining and petrochemical sites
Engineering consulting and troubleshooting to facility operations personnel Knowledge of overall system approaches for steam, fuel, flare, air, water treating systems
